Quote in the Saturday Independent about term extensions bill

Today I was asked by a press writer for the Saturday Independent what my reaction was to the passing of a house bill that will change Manchester's election cycles and force current Alderman to step down when seeking higher office.

My response:
It is unfortunate that my colleges have no more respect for the democratic spirit, or for our constitutes for that matter, by supporting this legislation. In a year in which some 3 million dollars have been spent on vanity projects, pet projects, and unbid contracts; our administration has now decided to miss lead the public by telling known untruths about the finical status of this bill, all the while hiding behind these false numbers to pass a bill that dances on the principals of our constitution obligations. It disgust me to see ones political agenda take precedence over the people we serve.
